Throughout history, human beings have often understood reality through opposites. Day and night. Order and chaos. Life and death. Good and evil. Given these contrasts, it is hardly surprising that many religious traditions have imagined the universe as a struggle between opposing spiritual powers. In some worldviews, God confronts Satan. In others, forces of light and darkness compete for influence. The idea appears intuitive because much of human experience can be described through dualities. The Universe Religion agrees that opposites exist. It disagrees that these opposites require multiple spirits. Why Many Creators Seem Plausible When people observe both beauty and suffering…
