One Creator or Many?

Throughout history, human beings have often understood reality through opposites.

Day and night.

Order and chaos.

Life and death.

Good and evil.

Given these contrasts, it is hardly surprising that many religious traditions have imagined the universe as a struggle between opposing spiritual powers. In some worldviews, God confronts Satan. In others, forces of light and darkness compete for influence. The idea appears intuitive because much of human experience can be described through dualities.

The Universe Religion agrees that opposites exist.

It disagrees that these opposites require multiple spirits.

Why Many Creators Seem Plausible

When people observe both beauty and suffering in the world, they naturally search for explanations.

A sunset and a war seem so fundamentally different that some conclude they must originate from different sources. Acts of compassion and acts of cruelty appear difficult to reconcile within a single framework. Over time, many religions and mythologies developed stories involving multiple divine beings, each responsible for different aspects of reality.

In some traditions, these beings cooperate.

In others, they compete.

The underlying idea remains similar: the complexity of the world is explained through a plurality of higher powers.

The Universe Religion takes a different approach.

The Problem of Multiple Spirits

If several creator-spirits existed simultaneously, difficult questions would arise.

Who created the universe?

Who created life?

Who bears responsibility for human suffering?

Who bears responsibility for human flourishing?

The more independent creators one introduces, the more difficult it becomes to assign responsibility clearly.

The Universe Religion therefore prefers a simpler explanation.

One universe.

One spirit.

One ultimate responsibility.

One Spirit

According to the Universe Religion, there is only one spirit.

This spirit is understood as a real participant in the universe rather than a supernatural being existing outside reality. It forms the underlying basis of creation and is responsible for the emergence of galaxies, life and consciousness.

The spirit may be compared to a house.

Different inhabitants may occupy the same house at different times without the house itself becoming a different structure.

In a similar way, the Universe Religion distinguishes between the spirit itself and the conscious beings that emerge within it.

There is only one spirit.

That does not necessarily imply only one creator-being throughout all of history.

What About Dualism?

At this point, an important question emerges.

If there is only one spirit, why does the Universe Religion speak of SATAN and GOD?

The answer lies in the distinction between simultaneous opposites and sequential opposites.

Many religions imagine good and evil as two powers existing at the same time.

The Universe Religion proposes something different.

It suggests that profound opposites can emerge within the history of the same spirit.

The dualism remains real.

The number of spirits does not increase.

SATAN and GOD

According to the Universe Religion, SATAN and GOD are not two creators competing against one another at the same time.

Nor are they understood as two independent spirits.

They are distinct creator-beings associated with different periods in the history of the same spirit.

SATAN represents the former creator-being.

GOD represents a future creator-being.

The differences between them are expected to be profound. They are not merely variations of the same personality. They represent fundamentally different approaches to responsibility, creation and the future.

For this reason, the Universe Religion recognises a genuine dualism.

Yet it remains a dualism within a single spiritual infrastructure rather than between multiple spirits.

Why Humanity Often Imagines Two Powers

The idea of two opposing forces is psychologically attractive because it mirrors everyday experience.

When something good happens, people may attribute it to one source.

When something harmful happens, they may attribute it to another.

This approach offers a simple explanation for a complicated world.

The Universe Religion takes a more demanding position.

It proposes that both the achievements and the failures of creation ultimately originate from the same spirit.

Responsibility cannot be divided between competing cosmic powers.

It must remain united.

One Spirit, Different Inhabitants

The Universe Religion therefore combines two ideas that are often treated as opposites.

On the one hand, it accepts the reality of profound contrasts.

On the other hand, it maintains the existence of only one spirit.

The result is a historical rather than a simultaneous dualism.

The contrast exists between different creator-beings associated with different eras rather than between different creator-spirits.

SATAN and GOD are therefore understood not as parallel rulers of reality, but as opposite chapters in the history of the same spiritual infrastructure.

Looking Ahead

The question is not whether many creators exist.

The question is how the one spirit should be understood.

The Universe Religion proposes that the future of humanity depends not upon choosing between multiple gods, but upon the emergence of a new creator-being within the one spirit that already exists.

For that reason, the most important question is not how many creators there are.

It is what kind of creator the future will bring.
