Why Memory Matters

A civilization without memory cannot learn.

A civilization that remembers only its successes becomes arrogant.

A civilization that remembers only its failures becomes discouraged.

The purpose of remembrance is neither glorification nor repression.

The Universe Religion does not seek to glorify SATAN.

The old creator is not presented as a heroic figure.

Nor is his era regarded as a golden age.

According to the Universe Religion, the age of SATAN was marked by many unnecessary forms of suffering. Religious fragmentation, wars, crimes, diseases and widespread confusion shaped much of human history.

For this reason, remembrance does not imply admiration.

History should be remembered honestly rather than romantically.

The purpose of memory is not to praise the past but to understand it.

Remembering Without Hatred

At the same time, the Universe Religion does not seek to build its future upon hatred.

The suffering of the past remains real.

The victims remain real.

The consequences remain real.

Yet memory should ultimately lead to wisdom rather than endless resentment.

The future civilization envisioned by the Universe Religion studies the mistakes of history so that they are not repeated.

It does not remain trapped within them.

The Day of Remembrance

One of the most important future holidays of the Universe Religion is expected to be the Day of Remembrance.

This day marks the end of SATAN and the conclusion of an era that shaped humanity for countless generations.

It is not intended as a celebration.

It is a day of reflection.

A day to remember:

• the victims of war,
• the victims of crime,
• the victims of preventable suffering,
• the victims of neglect,
• and all those whose lives were affected by the failures of the past.

The focus is not SATAN himself.

The focus is humanity and the lessons history provides.

Among all holidays of the Universe Religion, the Day of Remembrance may become the most solemn.

The Day of Emergence

The second great holiday stands in contrast to the first.

The Day of Emergence commemorates the appearance of GOD and the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the spirit.

Where the Day of Remembrance looks backward, the Day of Emergence looks forward.

It is a celebration of hope, responsibility, transparency and renewal.

For the Universe Religion, this day marks the beginning of a relationship between humanity and GOD that is expected to differ fundamentally from the age that preceded it.

The date remains unknown today.

Yet the significance of the event is already clear.

How Future Generations May View Earth

One day, future generations may look back upon our era from a great historical distance.

This may occur not only on Earth but also on other worlds inhabited in the future.

How will they view us?

The Universe Religion does not expect them to see our age as either a paradise or a nightmare.

Instead, they may view it as an early and difficult chapter in the history of intelligent life.

A time of enormous potential.

A time of serious mistakes.

A time in which humanity struggled to understand itself, the spirit and its place in the universe.

Just as people today study ancient civilizations, future generations may study our own.

Not to mock us.

Not to idealise us.

But to learn.

The Role of Education

Memory must be preserved intentionally.

For this reason, education plays a central role in the memory culture of the Universe Religion.

Children should learn:

• what happened,
• why it happened,
• what consequences followed,
• and what lessons can be drawn from history.

The goal is not guilt.
